Transportation-the Senior Mini bus for each of the surrounding
towns will transport disabled individuals as long as they are not in
the school system.  At this time, the schedule has to follow the
senior route, if we can show enough of a need we can petition for
an additional bus strictly for disabled individuals, this will help with
the transporting of back and forth to a job, etc... for additional info
or a copy of the mini bus schedule for your town,
Contact us.

Insurance- Medicaid insurance forms are available through us, as
well as assistance filling the form out.  We discussed a pilot program
for Autistic individuals that is currently running in New Haven and
Hartford Counties, one of our moms is working to bring it here, we
discovered that it sounds incredibly similar to the ABI (Acquired
Brain Injury) Waiver and we are currently researching to see if this
is in fact true.  The State of CT also has a program for ANYONE
ages 19-64 who is unable to get health insurance, it is the Charter
Oak Plan, and is open to residents of CT.  IT IS NOT MEDICAID, it is
a low premium cost health insurance, your premium is based on
your income.  for more info or an application to either of these
programs

We will be making final preparations for "Dance 'til your
hearts content"

We are all set for our dance on Saturday.

We have decided to change our meeting dates to once a
month during the summer.

We will alternate Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so one month
will be a Tuesday meeting and the following month a
Wednesday, this way more people will be able to attend the
meetings.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday July 7 th 2009 at 7pm.
June 21st 2009
We had a blast at the dance, about 40 people attended
and everyone danced, and laughed and had a great time.
Special thanks to our DJ, he did a fabulous job, and to
Harvey Rubin, Matt, and Michael for all the work they did,
thanks to all the parents who came, participated and
helped make this the success that it was.  Our next event
will be a barbecue on July 19th details will follow.
